Leap into adventure and escape to the hub of Northern Nevada where you’re just a chapter or two away from all that Reno and the surrounding area has to offer while solving a murder or two.
Why Reno? Well, Boston was taken by Spenser, Chicago by V. I. Warshawski, Los Angeles by Philip Marlowe, Miami by Ace Ventura, New York by Mike Hammer, San Francisco by Sam Spade, and Seattle by J. P. Beaumont, which left Las Vegas and Reno. Not to mention the plethora of small towns filled with amateur sleuths around the country and beyond.
So, while Reno and Las Vegas share some similarities with their desert landscapes and casinos, the two cities really couldn’t be more different. Reno feels like a big city when it comes to the diversity of people and things to do, but still exemplifies the definition of a small town with its friendliness and ease of getting around.
Reno, historically known for its gaming tourism industry, offers virtually nonstop events throughout the year and it’s pretty darn hard to get bored in this little, high desert city where blue-collar handyman, Chip Hale, makes his home and solves crimes that have baffled the police – in some cases for years.
